Our place is over in Chandmari, right near the ITI Gate in Ward 16. If you've ever been around this part of East Champaran, you know how busy that gate gets with all the students and workers moving around. We’ve been operating out of this spot for a good while now. The building is a bit older, and the paint is peeling in some corners, but it serves the purpose just fine. We deal with a lot of different supplies, so the floor is usually covered with crates and boxes that haven't been unpacked yet. There’s a ceiling fan that makes a bit of a clicking sound, but it keeps the air moving when the heat gets bad in the afternoon. People stop in all the time, sometimes just to ask for directions or because they need something specific for a project they’re working on nearby. We don't spend much money on decorations or anything like that. The focus is just on the work and making sure we have what people are looking for. It gets pretty dusty because of the road traffic, so there's a lot of sweeping to do every morning before we open up. We usually keep a few plastic chairs out front for anyone who needs to wait while we pull things from the back. It’s a busy life here in East Champaran, and we are just another part of the daily grind in this neighborhood. We stay open until the sun goes down and things finally quiet down.
