J. K. Wooden Clock Manufacturing Co.

Out here on the Rajkot Highway, things move pretty fast, but inside our shop, it's a bit slower. We are J. K. Wooden Clock Manufacturing Co. and we’ve been in the Nitin Zone area for a good bit now. Most people know the Sanala area, and that's where we are. We have a P.O. Box, number 150, for all our mail since things can get lost out this way sometimes. Woodworking is a messy job. There's sawdust everywhere most days, and the smell of cut timber is always in the air. We make clocks. Big ones, small ones, mostly out of wood because that’s what we know. It takes time to get the gears right and the wood smooth. We aren't some high-tech factory. It’s mostly just us working with our hands and a few older machines. The highway noise is always there in the background, but you get used to it after a week. Sometimes customers drop by after seeing the sign on the road. We don't have a fancy showroom. It's just a workshop where things get built. We focus on getting the joints tight and the finish decent. It's a living. Most of the guys here live nearby in Sanala or just a short drive away. We start early before the sun gets too hot. It's honest work, making something that people use to tell time. We've been at this spot in Nitin Zone for years now. We like the grain of the local wood we use. It feels solid.
