You will find Tilegres Ceramics out on Old Rafaleshwar Road in the Bhadiad area. This part of the country is known for its ceramic factories, and we are one of many scattered along this stretch. The road is old and a bit bumpy, and when the wind picks up, you can see the red dust blowing everywhere. Our factory is a place of constant activity, from the raw clay being mixed to the finished tiles being stacked on pallets. It’s heavy work, and it’s usually quite hot inside because of the kilns. We don't have a polished showroom with lights and mirrors; we just have a small office at the front where we talk to customers and vendors. The sounds of the machinery and the clinking of tiles are the background music to our day. Bhadiad is a quiet village otherwise, but the industry here keeps everyone busy. We usually have a lot of trucks lined up outside waiting to be loaded, which can make the road a bit tight. Our staff is mostly local people who know the trade well. We don't spend money on fancy marketing or big signs. We just focus on making the product and getting it onto the trucks. Most days are long, and we go home pretty tired, but that’s just how it is in the ceramic business. It’s a practical, no-nonsense way to earn a living in this part of Gujarat.
