We have been based out here on the Rajkot Highway for some time now. Our place is in the Lajai area, which is a bit of a drive if you are coming from the main part of Morbi. It’s a busy road, mostly filled with big trucks and trailers carrying goods back and forth all day long. The noise is something you just get used to after a while, along with the dust that kicks up whenever a heavy vehicle passes by our gate. We don't have a fancy office or any big signs for Sonam Export. It’s just a practical building where we do our work. Most of our day involves checking on the shipments that are going out. We spend a lot of time in the warehouse area, making sure the boxes are labeled correctly and everything is packed tight so nothing breaks. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, especially during the summer months, but we have a few old fans that keep the air moving a bit. Sometimes the local tea vendor comes by, and we take a break to sit outside for a few minutes. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s steady. We focus on the logistics and the paperwork that comes with exporting goods. There’s always a lot of forms to fill out and phone calls to make to the transport companies. We just try to get everything done before the sun sets and the highway gets even busier with the night traffic.
