Kevin Ceramic

Kevin Ceramic sits out on Saltanpar Road, just off the main 8-a National Highway. It's the kind of place where you always have a layer of red dust on your shoes by the end of the shift. We’ve been working in this area for years, and not much changes except maybe the traffic on the road gets a bit heavier. We spend most of our time out in the shed or checking on the loading area. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and making sure the ceramic pieces don't crack before they get onto the transport trucks. The sun hits the roof pretty hard in the afternoons, so we usually take a bit of a slow break then. We aren't really into big advertisements or polished talk. We just show people what we have and tell them how much it costs. The office is just a small room with a fan and some old files stacked up. Most days are about coordinating with drivers and making sure the production side isn't running into problems with the machinery. It's noisy and sometimes stressful when deadlines come up, but that’s the nature of the industry in Morbi. We know our neighbors and we know the road. It’s a practical business for people who don't mind getting their hands a bit dirty to make a living. There’s no secret to it, just showing up every morning and seeing what needs to be done.
