Prism Lamitubes

Our workshop is over at Patidar Industrial Estate, right near the Lajai Chokdi on the Rajkot-Morbi Highway. Being out on the highway means we get a lot of trucks passing by, and it’s always pretty dusty and noisy. We make lamitubes here, which are the tubes used for things like toothpaste or creams. It’s a lot of machine work and checking for leaks. I spend most of my shift on the floor making sure the lines are running right. It gets hot in the summer, especially with all the machinery going, but we have some big fans that help a bit. We aren't some big corporate factory; it’s just a group of us who have worked in this industry for years. We usually have lunch together in the small break area behind the main machines. The location is handy for shipping things out since we’re right on the main road. Sometimes the raw material delivery is late because of a breakdown on the highway, and we have to adjust our schedule. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just make tubes and try to make sure they are sturdy enough for our customers. It’s a practical job that involves a lot of grease and hard work. We like being out here where the actual making happens, far away from the city office blocks.
