Suncity Ceramics

Suncity Ceramics is located right on the 8-A National Highway, tucked just behind the Dariyalal Weigh Bridge. If you miss the turn at the weigh bridge, you’ll have to go a long way to find a U-turn. Our setup is pretty basic. We have a large yard where we keep the crates of ceramic products. It’s mostly just us and the forklift moving things around. The sun beats down on the highway, and it gets quite dusty with all the traffic. We don't have a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just make and sell ceramics. Most of our days are spent checking the inventory and making sure the shipments are loaded correctly. The weigh bridge next door is always busy, so there’s a lot of shouting and engine noise throughout the day. We’ve gotten used to it. We don't bother with a lot of paperwork unless it’s absolutely necessary for the transport. We’d rather be out in the yard checking the glaze on a new batch of tiles. It’s a local business run by local people. We know the other shop owners along the highway and we help each other out when a truck gets stuck or someone needs a hand. We aren't trying to be the biggest, just trying to stay busy and do the job right. It’s a decent way to live and work.
