Sonam Ceramics (Soncera)

You can find Sonam Ceramics, or Soncera as many call us, out at 8 A N H in Bandhunagar. We are located in Makansar, which is part of the Morbi area. This whole region is known for ceramics, so we are surrounded by other factories and lots of dust. Our place is where we make various ceramic products. It’s a dusty, hot job, especially in the summer months. We have big kilns and lots of raw clay being moved around. The workers here are used to the heavy lifting and the long hours. We aren't a fancy boutique. It’s a factory floor through and through. We’ve got stacks of tiles and ceramic pieces piled up in the yard. Sometimes the trucks have a hard time navigating the roads around here because it’s so busy with transport. We spend our time checking the quality of the glaze and making sure the firing temperatures are right. It’s a lot of trial and error sometimes. We don't have a big corporate office with glass walls. Our office is just a room with a few desks and a lot of samples lying around. We’ve been in the Morbi ceramic belt for a while now. We just focus on getting the production right. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s what we know. If you visit, you’ll probably see us in our work clothes, making sure the orders are ready to go.
