Being right on the 8-A National Highway means it’s always loud at Uday Gold Ceramic. The 132 Kva Power Station across the road hums all day, and you kind of get used to it after a while. We spend our time moving ceramic tiles and managing the yard. It’s a lot of physical work, especially when the weather gets hot in the afternoon. The trucks pull in from the highway and kick up a lot of dirt, so the yard is never really clean. We have a small crew here. Some of us handle the production and others watch over the storage. We don't have a big marketing department or anything like that. We just know how to make ceramics. Sometimes the machines need fixing, and we spend half the day with grease on our hands. It's just how it is. We eat our lunch together in the small break area. It’s nothing special, just a place to sit. We see a lot of people passing by on the highway, heading to other towns. We’ve been here at this spot for a while now. The work is steady but tiring. We just try to make sure the batches come out looking right. If something is wrong, we have to start over, which is a pain. We just stay focused on the day's load and try to get home on time.
