Out here in Morbi, specifically in the Vaghpara area, things move at their own pace. Our clinic, Arogya Niketan, sits on Main Vaghpara Road. Dr Balvantbhai N Pandya has been seeing people from this part of Gujarat for a long time. The address is a bit of a mouthful, but locals just know it as the place on the corner of the main road. Vaghpara is a busy neighborhood, and there is always something going on outside our windows. Inside, it’s mostly just the sound of a fan and people talking. We don’t have fancy digital screens or anything like that. It’s a basic setup with some chairs and the doctor’s room. People stop in because they know the name and they trust the advice they get here. We deal with all kinds of stuff, from stomach bugs to general check-ups. Gujarat weather can be tough, so we see a lot of people when the seasons change. The clinic is usually filled with the smell of medicine and old paper. We write everything down by hand mostly. It’s a humble place, honestly. We don’t try to be anything we’re not. If you’re walking down Vaghpara Road, you’ll see the sign easily enough. We’ve been here through a lot of changes in Morbi, but the clinic stays pretty much the same. We just keep the doors open and help whoever walks in. It’s just how things are done here in our part of town.
