Sourav Pustak Bhandar

Sourav Pustak Bhandar sits right on Kashipur Road in the Thakurdwara area. It is a busy spot because we are in Bara Bazaar, which is always full of people and noise. Being opposite the Kotwali makes it easy for people to find us, even if they aren't from around here. We have a lot of books crammed into the space, and sometimes it feels like the walls are closing in when we get a big delivery. The street outside is always moving with rickshaws and bikes, so it never really gets silent. We usually start the day by cleaning the front step and getting the registers ready. The bazaar has its own rhythm, and we have become a small part of it over the years. We don't use any big signs or loud advertisements. People just know we are here across from the police station. The fans inside don't do much when the summer heat really hits, but we stay anyway. It is a simple place for people to get what they need for their kids' school or their own reading. We aren't trying to be anything more than a regular bookstore in a crowded market. You see a lot of interesting things happening in Bara Bazaar just from standing at our door. It is a good place to be if you like seeing the city move. We just keep our heads down and work.
