Opposite Veena Misthan Bhandar, that is where you will find us. We are in the Akbar 2Nd area of Kathgarh. It is a busy little spot, mostly because of the sweet shop across the way. You can usually smell the frying snacks while we are working on the bowls. We have been making singing bowls here for a long time now. It is loud and dusty work, but it is what we know. The metal gets hot and the hammers are heavy, so by the end of the day, we are all pretty tired. We do not have a fancy showroom with glass cases. Everything is just out on tables or in crates waiting to be sorted. Sometimes the noise from the workshop is so loud we cannot hear people coming in at first. We just keep our heads down and get the hammering done. Each bowl takes a lot of hits to get the shape right. If the sound is off, we have to keep at it until it sounds like it should. We do not use big machines for everything; a lot of it is just hands and old tools. People often stop by because they are curious about the clanging sounds. We just show them how the metal changes as we work it. It is a slow process, but we are not in a rush. We have stayed in this same spot for years because it works for us.
