Rajkamal Electroplaters

Rajkamal Electroplaters is situated in Prabhat Market, right off Rampur Road in Katghar. It’s a busy little corner of the world. We deal with electroplating, which is a lot of dipping things into tanks and watching the chemicals do their thing. It’s not the kind of job you do if you want to stay clean. The smell of the workshop is pretty strong, but after a few years, you don't even notice it anymore. Prabhat Market is always buzzing with people and other small shops. We just focus on our own tasks. Katghar has its own pace, and we’ve become part of the furniture here. We don't have a mission statement or anything like that. We just take the items, plate them, and give them back. It’s practical work. Sometimes the equipment acts up and we have to spend the morning fixing it ourselves. We aren't experts in everything, but we know how to plate metal. The floors are usually wet and the walls are a bit stained from the steam. We just keep our heads down. It’s a small shop with a few dedicated people. We eat our lunch together and talk about the news or the weather. It’s a decent life, even if it’s a bit messy and loud most of the time. We just keep the tanks filled and the work moving as fast as we can.
