We set up Rajan Overseas Inc. at number 29 in Civil Linies quite a while back. This part of town is a bit quieter than the main markets, which we appreciate when we are trying to get work done. Our office is mostly filled with stacks of papers, some old desks, and the sound of phones ringing. We deal with a lot of shipping and coordination, so there’s always something that needs to be tracked or a form that needs signing before the day ends. It’s not a very exciting place to look at, just a functional workspace where we manage the day-to-day operations. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us who have been together for years. We know how each other works, which helps when things get stressful during the busy seasons. Sometimes the internet goes down or a shipment gets delayed, and we just have to deal with it as it comes. We aren't trying to change the world; we are just trying to make sure our clients get what they asked for on time. Most of our business comes from long-term contacts we’ve built up over the decades. The building itself is quite old and has high ceilings, which helps keep it cool when the sun is out. We keep a small kettle in the corner for making tea throughout the afternoon. If you come by Civil Linies, you’ll find us in a plain building, just doing what we’ve always done.
