We are located about 18 kilometers out on Delhi Road. You have to look for the stone markers to find us. Prakash Woollen Mills Limited is right there near Amhera Post in Chaudherpur. It’s a bit of a drive from the main city, but being out in J P Nagar gives us the space we need. The air is a bit clearer out here than in Delhi. We deal with wool, so there's always a bit of lint flying around the mill. It’s been our home for years. The local workers from the surrounding villages make up most of our team. We know their families and they know ours. It’s not a fancy corporate environment. We wear work clothes and get our hands dirty. The mill has its own rhythm. You hear the machines hum from the road. Some days the logistics are a challenge because of the distance, but we've gotten used to the 18 km stretch. We don't spend money on glossy brochures. We spend it on keeping the looms running. The weather out here affects the work sometimes, especially the monsoon season. But we just keep going. It’s a long-term thing for us. We aren't in a rush to change everything. We just do our work, send out the woollens, and start again the next day. It’s a quiet, steady life in J P Nagar and we like it just fine.
