Iqbal Brass Corporation

Iqbal Brass Corporation is located on Peerzada Street, right near the Rozey Wali Masjid in Shashtrinagar. Our spot is on the main road near Udhana Darwaja, so it is always loud with the sound of bikes and rickshaws zooming past. The shop is filled with the distinct smell of brass and metal polish. We have shelves that go all the way up, filled with various brass items and components. The light coming in from the front door reflects off the metal, making the whole place glow a bit in the morning. We spend a lot of time cleaning the stock because the air in this part of town gets quite heavy with soot and dust. The mosque nearby provides a steady sense of time with the calls to prayer throughout the day. Our workspace is pretty simple, just a few heavy-duty benches and some old stools for when we need to sit down and do the accounts. We write everything down in big registers with red covers. It is a traditional way of doing things, but it works for us. Customers usually come in and we spend a bit of time chatting about the weather or the local news before getting down to business. It is a friendly enough place, even if it is a bit cramped and cluttered with metal scraps. We have been on Peerzada Street for a long time, and we are just a regular part of the neighborhood fabric now.
