Oswal Impex

Oswal Impex is located over in Manju Nagar, right off Rampur Road. If you know Prabhat Market, you’ve probably walked past our door without noticing. We’ve been set up here for a while. The building isn't much to look at, but it works for what we do. We handle a lot of importing and exporting of different goods. Every morning starts with opening the metal shutters and seeing what arrived overnight. The traffic on Rampur Road can be a real headache, especially when the big lorries are trying to turn into the market area. We mostly keep to ourselves and get the packing done. There’s about five of us working here most days. We drink a lot of tea and talk about the weather while we wait for the shipping agents to call us back. It’s mostly just making sure the numbers match the lists. Sometimes things get delayed at the port, and we have to explain that to whoever is waiting. It’s just part of the trade. The office has some old posters on the wall and a lot of samples lying around on the shelves. It’s a bit of a mess, but we know where everything is. We don't really do much advertising. People usually find us through word of mouth or they just see the sign when they're shopping in the market. It's a steady life and we like being in this part of town. The rainy season makes the road muddy, but we manage.
