Nature Arts

Down on Bhatti Street in Asalatpura, things are always moving. Nature Arts is located right near Mit Ram Ganga Vihar. It’s a busy part of the city. The street is narrow and the air usually smells like whatever materials people are working with nearby. We spend our days surrounded by various pieces of art and craft items. It’s not a clean, white gallery style place. It’s a working space. There’s dust on the floors and tools lying on the workbenches. We do a lot of the finishing work ourselves. Some of the pieces take a lot of time and patience. We’ve had this spot for a long time, and the building is quite old. You can hear the sounds of the street from inside—the bikes passing by and people shouting to each other. We don't have a big marketing budget or a fancy showroom. We just show people what we’ve made when they walk in. Sometimes we sit out front when the weather is nice. It’s a very local way of doing things. People in the neighborhood know what we do. We just keep making things and hope people like the work. It’s a bit messy sometimes, but that’s part of the process of creating something from scratch. We just take it one day at a time here on Bhatti Street. It's not a glamorous life, but it's ours, and we wouldn't have it any other way right now.
