Near the Moti Masjid, you’ll find our shop on the street in Chahnayak Sarai Tareen. This part of the Sambhal district is old, so the streets are narrow and full of people walking back and forth. We handle a bit of everything here under the name Mehroz Enterprises. Some days it is local crafts, and other days it is just general trading of things people need for their homes. High ceilings in this old building help keep the heat away during the long summer months. While we work, the call to prayer from the masjid is always audible in the background. Most of our neighbors have known us for a long time. There is no fancy showroom, just stacks of items and enough space to negotiate prices. Brown paper and string are what we use to wrap up everything for our customers. The stone floors are a little uneven, but they have a lot of character. Marketing and big logos aren't really our style. People in Chahnayak Sarai just know where to find us when they need something. When a truck is too big for the narrow street, we have to carry the boxes from the main road by hand. It’s hard work, but it keeps us busy and active. Being fair and keeping the business moving is our main focus every day. That is just how things are done here in our corner of the town.
