Gulab Singh Samaj Utthan Foundation

We are based out of Village Mahmoodpur at house number 41. This is the home of Ram Pal, and he’s nice enough to let us use a good portion of it for the foundation. Being out in a village like this is different than being in the city. There isn't any traffic noise, just the sounds of the farm animals and people talking in the lanes. Our office is just a simple room with a few tables and some chairs we brought in. We keep all our foundation books and papers in a large metal trunk to keep them safe from the damp. Most of the people we work with are our neighbors right here in the village. We don't have a lot of technology. We mostly rely on our phones and doing things by hand. When someone has a problem, they just walk up to the door and knock. We don't have set office hours like a big bank would. If we are home, we are open. Sometimes we sit under the big tree in the courtyard to do our work when the weather is nice. It’s a very grounded way of doing things. We know every family in Mahmoodpur, and they know us. The address is 244901 in the Rampur area. It’s a quiet life, but we find there is always something that needs to be taken care of for the community. We just take it day by day.
