Brass Crafters

You will find Brass Crafters located down Gali No.3 in Islam Nagar, Asalatpura. This whole neighborhood is well known for its metal work, and our workshop is right in the middle of all that activity. The space we work in is small and it stays pretty hot most of the time because of the furnaces and the casting process we use. It is definitely not the right place for someone who likes to stay clean and tidy. We are almost always covered in soot or fine metal dust by the end of the day. We have been working with brass for as long as I can possibly remember. The sounds of hammers hitting metal and the hum of polishing machines are a constant backdrop in our narrow alley. We aren't a big company with a human resources department or anything like that. It is just a group of local craftsmen who really know their trade well. We don't rely on fancy machines for every part of the process; a lot of the work is still done by hand and by eye. Some days the work moves slowly, and on other days we find ourselves working late into the night just to finish a specific batch. Our neighbors are all doing similar work, so there is a strong sense of community around here. We just focus on the pieces we are currently making. We don't have any kind of showroom. If you come by, you’ll have to navigate the materials.
