Ali Sons Export Co. operates out of Alisons House, which is located in Kisrol, right by Jhabbu Chowk. It’s an old building, but it’s got a lot of character and plenty of space for what we do. Exporting is a strange business because you’re always thinking about places that are far away while you’re sitting in a small office in Kisrol. We spend most of our time on the phone or checking emails about shipping schedules and customs forms. It’s a lot of paperwork, more than you’d think. Jhabbu Chowk is a busy area, so there’s always something going on outside our windows. We hear the street vendors and the traffic all day long. The office is usually full of samples and packing crates. It’s a bit of a squeeze sometimes when a big shipment is going out. We are a small team, mostly family and people who have been with us for years. We don't really do the whole corporate thing. We just focus on getting the goods from point A to point B without too much trouble. Sometimes there are delays at the port or issues with the weather, and we just have to sit tight and wait it out. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know. We’ve been in this spot for a long time, and the locals all know where Alisons House is. We just keep our heads down and get the containers moving.
