Abdul Salam Maternity Centre

Our maternity centre is located out in Mahmoodpur, right along the Sambhal-Moradabad Road. It’s a busy stretch of road, especially near the Haji Jumma scrap dealer. Being a maternity centre, things can get pretty emotional and busy at all hours of the day and night. We’ve seen a lot of families grow over the years we've been here. The building is a bit older, but it’s sturdy and we keep it as comfortable as we can for the mothers who come in. We aren't a high-end private hospital with private chefs, but we provide a place where people feel looked after. Most of the staff live nearby, so they know the families coming in. It makes things feel a bit more personal when the nurse knows your aunt or your neighbor. The sounds of the road outside are constant, but inside we try to keep things a bit more peaceful. We don't spend much time on paperwork that isn't necessary. The focus is always on the mothers and the new babies. It’s hard work and the hours are unpredictable, but that’s the nature of this kind of place. We’ve been part of the Mahmoodpur community for a long time now. People know they can come to us when the time comes. It’s just an honest, local place for families in this area of Moradabad. We do our best.
