Baarid Ice Cream

Baarid Ice Cream operates out of Baarid House in Kakkinje. This is part of the Belthangadi Taluk area. It is a bit quieter here than in the big cities, which suits us just fine. We spend our days at the house managing the stock and making sure everything is running smoothly. The air is a bit different here in the taluk, and we get a lot of local people who stop by because they know the name. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know how to handle the equipment. Every morning we check the temperature gauges first thing. If the power goes out, which happens sometimes around here, we have to move fast. It’s a lot of responsibility keeping things cold in this climate. Baarid House is our main base, and we’ve become a familiar sight for the people living nearby in Kakkinje. We don’t use any polished language to describe what we do. We just work hard and make sure the product is ready. Sometimes the roads around the dist. get a bit rough during the rains, but we still manage to get things done. We like the pace of life here. It’s honest work and we take it one day at a time. We don't have a fancy mission statement or anything like that. We just stay at Baarid House and do our jobs until the sun goes down and it is finally time to head home for the night.
