Out here in Dodda Phota, things are mostly about the farms and the land. We are located in Sullia Taluk, way out in West Karnataka. Our building isn't much to look at, but it gets the job done for what we do with the tractors. People around here depend on their machinery to make a living, so we stay pretty busy all year round. It’s a lot of grease and heavy lifting most days. We have a small crew that knows these machines inside and out. It’s not like working in a big city office; we’re usually covered in dirt and oil by noon. The roads out this way can be rough, especially during the monsoon season, so getting parts delivered takes a bit of planning. We’ve been part of this community for a long while now. Most of the farmers know us by name and stop by even if they don't need anything fixed, just to talk for a minute or escape the rain. We don't have a marketing department or anything like that. We just open up the shop and see who needs help with their equipment. It's practical work. You fix a tractor, and it goes back to the field to do its job. That’s the cycle we live by. We keep a pot of water on the stove and try to stay out of the sun when it gets too hot. It’s a quiet life in Sullia, but we keep the wheels turning.
