Rural Mon Farmers Producer Company Limited

In Mon Village, we started the Rural Mon Farmers Producer Company Limited because we wanted to do things together as a group. Our setup is over at Shantham Ward, specifically at the place of Nahpang Konyak. It's a regular village spot, nothing too fancy, just where we meet up to discuss our farming work and how to move our produce. Mon is a beautiful place but it can be a bit tough to get things moving sometimes, so having this little company helps us out. Most of us have our own small plots of land, and we spend most of the daylight hours out there. Then we head over to the ward to catch up on the business side of things. It’s a bit of a walk for some, but it works for us. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that. We just talk like neighbors because that’s what we are. The office is really just a room in the village where we keep track of what everyone is growing. Being in Shantham Ward means we are close to the heart of the village life here. We’ve all known each other for a long time, so trust isn't really an issue. It’s just about getting the work done and making sure we can keep farming.
