You can find us at House Number 166 in the South Wing of Arkong-Ii, over in Mokokchung. Hill Tribal Agro & Allied Farmer Producer Company Limited is a bit of a long name for a group of people, but we are just tribal farmers working together. Mokokchung is our home, and we have been tilling this land for as long as anyone can remember. We formed this collective because it is hard to survive as a solo farmer these days with the way prices go up and down. By joining up, we can share our knowledge and help each other get a better price for our crops. We don't use those heavy industrial methods that ruin the soil. Most of our work is done with simple tools and a lot of sweat. We spend our weeks out on the slopes, tending to the plants and watching the weather patterns closely. In the evenings, we meet up in Arkong to talk about what is working and what isn't. There is no big corporate hierarchy here. Everyone’s opinion matters, whether you have been farming for fifty years or just five. It is a community effort, plain and simple. We handle all sorts of agro products, basically whatever grows well in our Nagaland climate. Sometimes the roads are bad and getting things to market is a total nightmare, but we have learned to be patient. We are just regular people from the tribe trying to make an honest living.
