Our store is right in the main market of Mohapur Town, which is part of the Kasganj district. It’s a lively spot, especially on market days when everyone from the surrounding villages comes into town. We’ve been running the Gupta Hardware and Machinary Store from this same building for a long time. We sell all sorts of things, from heavy-duty pump sets for the farms to simple hammers and saws. The front of the shop is usually crowded with larger machines, making the entrance a bit narrow. Inside, it smells like grease and new metal. We spend a lot of our time explaining how a particular motor works or helping someone find the right belt for their machinery. It’s dusty work because of the open storefront, and the noise from the market outside never really stops until late evening. We don't have a fancy display or anything like that; we just stack things where they fit. My family has been doing this for a generation, so we know most of the farmers who come in. Sometimes the power is a bit patchy in Mohapur, so we keep some flashlights handy to show people the goods in the back. It’s a straightforward business. We provide the tools that keep the local farms and houses running, and we’re happy to be part of the daily bustle here.
