Vision Medical Devices India Private Limited operates out of Plot No. 586 in Phase 9 of the Industrial Area. This is a big, sprawling zone with lots of factories and warehouses all around us. Phase 9 can be a bit of a maze if you aren’t used to it, but we’ve been here long enough that we know every turn. Our plot is a functional space where we handle different types of medical devices. It’s noisy outside with all the industrial activity, but inside we try to keep things focused. The floors are concrete and the ceilings are high, which is good for storage but makes it a bit echoey. We spend most of our time checking device specs and talking to suppliers. It’s not a place for fancy furniture; we have sturdy desks and lots of shelves. The air in Phase 9 usually has that industrial smell of grease and dust. We have a small kettle for tea and a few chairs for breaks. It’s a lot of physical work, moving boxes and checking serial numbers. We don't have a marketing department or anyone to write glossy brochures. We just do the work as it comes in. The days are long, especially when we have a big delivery to sort through. But we like the routine of the industrial area. There’s a sense of productivity here that you don't get in a downtown office. We just keep our heads down and get the medical devices ready for use.
