Ujjal Rice Mills

We've been here at Ujjal Rice Mills for quite some time now. Our place is located in Village Salho Majra, right along Guru Gobind Singh Marg in Chamkaur Sahib. It’s a quiet area mostly, but the mill stays busy throughout the season. Most people around here know where we are. We handle the rice processing day in and day out. It’s hard work, especially when the trucks start arriving from the fields. The machines make a lot of noise, but that’s just how a mill is. We spend most of our daylight hours checking the grain and making sure the equipment is running okay. Sometimes the weather makes things difficult, but we just keep going. The staff here are locals from the village or nearby towns. We don’t have a fancy office or anything like that. It’s just a shed with some heavy machinery and plenty of storage space for the sacks. We usually start early in the morning before the sun gets too hot. By the time evening rolls around, everyone is pretty tired. We focus on getting the work done so the farmers can get their rice moved. There isn't much to say about us besides that. We just run the mill and try to keep things moving as they should. If you drive past Chamkaur Sahib on the main road, you’ll likely see the piles of husks outside. That’s us. We just stick to what we know.
