Tanishq Musical Group & Music Academy

The academy is up on the first floor of Modern Market in Sector-70, right in the middle of Mohali. We started Tanishq Musical Group & Music Academy because we just wanted a place where people could come and learn an instrument without any pressure. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs, but once you’re inside, there is usually someone practicing the drums or trying to get a guitar chord right. We have students of all ages coming in from Village Matour and other parts of Chandigarh. It gets pretty noisy in here in the afternoons, but that’s just how a music school should be, I think. Besides the teaching part, we also go out as a group to perform at local events and functions. We’ve got our gear stashed in the corners, and sometimes things get a bit messy with all the cables and music stands lying around. It is not some high-end conservatory; it is just a bunch of people who enjoy playing music together. Being near the Kurali Gas Service makes us easy to find if you’re looking for us. We spend our days tuning instruments and helping kids find their rhythm. It’s hard work keeping everyone on beat, but it’s what we do. We don't use any fancy teaching methods, just sitting down and playing until it sounds right.
