Tandan Rice Mills

We are located out in Mehtabgarh Village, which is part of the Rajpura Tehsil area in Patiala. It is quite close to the New Grain Market, so there is always a lot of noise and trucks moving around during the busy seasons. Tandan Rice Mills has been operating here for a while now. Most days just start early with the machines getting warmed up and the smell of grain everywhere. We spend a lot of time checking the loads coming in and making sure everything is moving like it should. It gets dusty and loud, but that is just how a rice mill is. Sometimes the weather makes things hard, especially when it rains and we have to worry about the moisture. People from around the village and the nearby market stop by often to talk or check on things. We don't have a big fancy office or anything like that. Just a desk and some chairs where we sit and handle the paperwork. It is a lot of hard work and long hours when the harvest is happening. We just try to keep the machines running and get the work finished before it gets too dark. There are always small problems to fix, like a belt slipping or something getting stuck, but we manage. It’s just how things go here in this part of Patiala. We keep to ourselves mostly and focus on getting the grain processed and sent out to where it needs to go.
