Kharar Rice & General Mills

Kharar Rice & General Mills is tucked away in Village Tirpri, which is just outside Kharar. It is a bit of a drive out here, but it’s where we have the space for the mill. The village is peaceful, though the mill itself makes a fair bit of racket. We handle a lot of the local crop from the surrounding farms. The building is just a big metal structure with some brick additions we put on later to keep the rain out. It’s not much to look at from the road. Inside, it’s mostly just the machinery and storage space for the bags. We have a small crew of local men who come in every day to help. We don't have any formal uniforms or anything corporate. Just regular clothes that get dusty fast. We focus on getting the husks off the rice and making sure everything is sorted right. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to spend half the day with a wrench in hand. That is just part of the business out here. Village Tirpri is a good community and we feel at home here. We don't bother with fancy talk or marketing. We just do the work that needs doing. When the sun goes down, we lock up the gates and head home like everyone else. It is a simple life.
