Dawarka Dass And Sons is set up at Plot 990 in the JLPL Industrial Area, Sector 82. It’s a wide-open area with a lot of new construction still happening around us. Our building is a simple structure that serves as both our storage and our main workspace. We handle a variety of items, so the layout changes depending on what we have in stock that week. There’s no big corporate logo on the wall, just the company name painted near the entrance. The inside is mostly open space with some high shelves that we reach using a ladder. We spend a lot of time checking lists and moving boxes around. It’s a family-run kind of feel, even though it’s an industrial site. We don't have a fancy cooling system, so we keep the big doors open to let the air circulate. Sometimes a stray dog wanders in looking for shade. We have a small table where we drink tea and talk about what needs to be done for the day. The street outside is mostly quiet except for the occasional truck or a neighbor’s car. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living. We don’t do much advertising; people mostly find us because they know where Plot 990 is or they’ve been told where to look. We just focus on getting the orders out and keeping the inventory in good shape every single day.
