Grameen Surya Bijlee Foundation

We’ve been operating out of C-141 in the Phase-VII Industrial Area of SAS Nagar for a good while now. Grameen Surya Bijlee Foundation isn't a big corporate setup with a shiny lobby and expensive furniture. It’s mostly just a practical space where we store solar panels and figure out how to get them to villages that don't have steady power. The yard can get a bit messy with crates and packing materials, especially when a big shipment comes in. We spend most of our time talking to people in rural areas or checking on the gear. It is often hot in the summer, and the office fan doesn't always do much, but we get the work done regardless. The staff here usually brings lunch from home and we sit around the old wooden table to eat. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing team to tell our story. We just focus on the task at hand. Sometimes the roads to the sites are really bad, and our old truck struggles, but it eventually gets there. We’ve seen a lot of changes in the industrial area since we moved in. New factories have opened up nearby, making it a bit more crowded than before. We just keep our heads down and worry about the next project. It is honest work and we like being part of the local community here in SAS Nagar.
