We are at number 54 in the furniture market. If you’ve been around here, you probably know the area gets quite crowded on the weekends with people looking for stuff for their homes. We have been making and selling furniture for a long time now. The workshop is right in the back of the shop, so you can often hear the sawing and hammering while you’re looking at the tables and chairs in the front section. It’s a bit of a messy place with sawdust on the floor and scraps of wood, but that’s just how it is when you’re working with your hands. We don't have a big showroom with bright lights and air conditioning, just the pieces we’ve finished recently sitting out for people to see. We make mostly beds, cupboards, and dining tables. Sometimes people bring in a drawing they made and ask if we can make something like it. We do our best to match what they want, but we’re just a small crew of three people. The wood we use varies depending on what we can get a good price on from our suppliers. We don’t have a website or anything like that, we just rely on people walking by and seeing what we’ve built. It’s hard work and our hands are always a bit rough from the sanding and staining. We take our time with the joints because we want the furniture to last. It’s a family thing, really, with my sons helping out quite a bit after they finish with their daily chores.
