Up here on the fifth floor of Gspl Tower, you get a decent look at what’s going on in Phase 8A. Being in the Mohali industrial area means there are always trucks moving and people in uniforms heading to the factories. We are right opposite the Godrej factory, which is the easiest way to tell people where we are located. E304 is our corner of the building. The lift in this tower is usually busy, so sometimes I just take the stairs if I’m in a hurry, though five floors is a bit much in the heat. Inside, it’s mostly just desks and files. It’s an office environment through and through. We hear the humming of the machinery from the surrounding plants sometimes, but you get used to it after a week. It’s a lot of work coordinating things from here. We started out with just a couple of people and now the room feels a bit smaller with all the extra equipment. The windows stay shut mostly because of the dust from the industrial zone. It’s not the quietest place, but it works for us. We spend a lot of time on the phone or looking at screens. Lunch is usually something quick from a nearby stall or brought from home. It’s a regular office life in a busy part of Mohali. We’ve been here long enough that the security guards know our names by now. It is just a practical place to work.
