Uprala Foundation

Uprala Foundation is based out in Zira, specifically at the home of Prithi Singh in Talwandimange Khan. It is a small village area, and that is where we feel most at home. You won't find a big corporate office here. Instead, we work out of a modest space where Jagir Singh and Prithi Singh handle most of the daily tasks. It is a bit out of the way for city folks, but everyone in the local area knows where we are. We don't have fancy office furniture or air conditioning that works all the time. Mostly, we just have a few sturdy tables and plenty of chairs for when people from the village stop by to talk. The work we do is practical and doesn't involve much shouting or advertising. We just get things done when they need doing. Sometimes the dust from the fields gets into the office, but we just wipe it off and keep going. Life in Zira moves at its own pace, and we try to match that. We don't have a lot of formal meetings. Most decisions are made over a cup of tea or while walking through the village. It is a very hands-on way of doing things. We don't spend money on big signs or polished brochures. We’d rather just use what we have to help the people who live around here. It's a simple life and simple work, but it keeps us busy enough every single day.
