If you head down to the Grain Market in the village of Nihal Singh Wala, you will eventually run into Sri Saravana Agency. It is a very busy place, especially when the harvest comes in and the whole market is filled with the smell of grain and the sound of heavy trucks. We spend our days right in the middle of all that chaos. Our office is simple, mostly just a place to sit down, have some water, and handle the paperwork for the grain sales. There is always dust in the air and people coming in and out with news about crop prices or the weather. We don't really do much in the way of advertising because everyone around here already knows who we are and where to find us. We have been part of this market for a long time now. The days can be long, starting early before the sun is even up and finishing late when the last truck finally leaves the lot. We don't have any fancy technology, just the scales and our notebooks to keep everything straight. It’s a tough job sometimes, and your clothes end up smelling like the field, but it is honest work. We don't make big promises, we just show up every day and do our part in the local market. It’s just how things have always been done in Nihal Singh Wala and we are fine with that.
