Jadoo Photography

Jadoo Photography is based out of the Malout Muktsar area in Punjab. It’s mostly just us and our cameras, trying to capture things as they happen. We spend a lot of time traveling between different towns for weddings or local events. The gear is heavy and sometimes the lighting is terrible, but we find a way to make it work. We don't have a big studio with lights everywhere; we usually just go where the people are. There is a lot of waiting around for the right moment, then a lot of sitting at the computer later to go through all the files. Our office is a bit messy with tripods and bags all over the place. We’ve been doing this for a while now, and we’ve seen all sorts of celebrations across Punjab. It’s not always glamorous work. Sometimes we are standing in the heat for hours or trying to get kids to sit still for a second. We don't really do the fancy editing that makes everything look fake. We just like things to look like they did in person. It’s a small business, and we handle everything ourselves from the first phone call to delivering the prints. Some days are quiet, and other days we don't have a minute to sit down. That’s just the life of a photographer here. We just keep our batteries charged and look for the next shot.
