About Vandana Timbers – Building & Construction Material in Miyapur
The yard here on Bombay Road stays pretty dusty because of all the wood coming in and out. Being in Serilingampally means we see a lot of trucks passing by all day long. We have been at this 1/112/3/C spot for a good bit now. My clothes usually smell like pine or teak by the time I go home for dinner. We don’t have a big corporate office with glass walls or anything like that. It’s just the timber stacks and the workspace under the roof. Sometimes the rain makes things difficult but we manage. People come by looking for specific sizes of wood and we try to find what they need in the piles. It’s not always organized perfectly but we know where everything is kept. The sun hits the front of the yard pretty hard in the summer months so we drink a lot of water. It’s a simple business really. We take the wood and we cut it or sell it as it is. There are a few of us working here and we’ve known each other a long time. It feels like a second home most days. You learn to tell the different types of wood just by the weight or the grain. It isn’t easy work on the back but it keeps us busy and pays the bills. We don't spend money on big signs or ads because we prefer to stay focused on the work itself.
