About Tulsi Rice Mill – Food & Beverages in Mirzapur
The mill is situated out on Rewa Road in the Samogara area. We are part of the Mirzapur Sadar taluk, so it is a bit of a drive from the main city center. Tulsi Rice Mill is basically a big shed where the machines do most of the heavy lifting. There is always a layer of fine dust on everything, no matter how much we sweep. The sound of the hullers is pretty constant once we get started in the morning. We have a small office corner with a wooden desk where the paperwork stays. Outside, the road sees a lot of tractors and trucks passing by with grain. It gets very dusty during the harvest season. We spend our days checking the moisture in the grain and making sure the bags are filled correctly. It is a lot of manual labor, hauling sacks and moving them to the loading area. The weather out here in Samogara can be quite tough, really hot in the dry months. We usually take a long break in the middle of the day when the sun is at its peak. The mill has been part of this landscape for a while now. We don't have a website or any fancy marketing. It is just the mill, the grain, and the people who work here every day. Most of us live nearby and walk or bike to the site. It is steady, predictable work that keeps us busy throughout the year. We just keep the machines oiled and the bags moving.
