Mother India Husking Rice

Mother India Husking Rice is a small mill located on Palitpur Road in Mirzapur. Around here, everything is about the crops and the seasons. We get very busy after the harvest when the farmers bring in their paddy. The smell of raw rice is everywhere in our facility. It is a loud place when the husking machines are running. We have been doing this in Mirzapur for a long time. It is not just a business; it is part of how this village works. My neighbors bring their grain here and we process it so it is ready for the market or for their own kitchens. The building is old and the roof leaks a little when the monsoon is heavy, but we manage. We have a few workers who live nearby and they know the machines inside out. We don't use any fancy computers to run things. It is mostly mechanical and requires a lot of manual labor to bag the rice up. Palitpur Road can get very muddy during the rains, so getting the trucks in and out takes some skill. We don't have a sales team. People just come to us because they know we have been here forever. We try to keep the mill clean, but with all that chaff flying around, it is a constant battle. It is a simple, honest way to live. We are just part of the local landscape here, doing what needs to be done with the rice. We hope to keep the machines humming for many more harvests.
