Our setup is quite modest. We work out of the Kusumi area. It's more of a local operation where everyone knows everyone else. Priyanka Mehta handles a lot of the coordination for us. We deal with various fabrics and we spend a lot of time checking the weaves and the colors. It’s not a high-tech lab. It’s a place with looms and stacks of cloth. Sometimes the dust from the threads gets everywhere, and we have to stop and sweep up every couple of hours. The winters in Mirzapur are actually quite nice, but the rainy season makes it hard to dry anything, so we have to plan around the weather. We aren't doing any big advertising or anything. We just fulfill the orders we get and try to keep our customers happy. It’s a simple life here in Chunar, and we’re just glad to be part of the local economy and keep the textile tradition going.
