JJMD MUTUAL BENEFIT NIDHI LIMITED is located right by the railway fatak in Sakteshgarh. If you know the Chunar area in Mirzapur, you probably know where that crossing is. The trains go by pretty often, so it can get a bit noisy in the office during the day, but we've gotten used to it. We set up shop here because it’s a spot where everyone passes by. Most of our members are people from the nearby villages who come into Chunar for work or shopping. We have a small office where we handle all the deposits and the small credit stuff folks need. It’s a plain room with some old cupboards and a desk that’s seen better days. We don’t mind, though. It’s about the work, not the furniture. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to do everything by hand under the natural light. We keep the books tidy and make sure everyone gets their receipts. It’s a busy little spot, especially when the crossing is closed and people are waiting around. They pop in to ask about their accounts or just to see how things are going. We’ve been part of this Sakteshgarh community for a bit now. We aren't doing anything fancy, just providing a place for people to save their hard-earned money without having to travel all the way into the main city. It's a simple life for us here in this corner of the world.
