About Education-Livelihoods In Conflict Impacted Territories Foundation – Charity & Non Profit Organisations in Mirzapur
Our place is at 1859 Gool Lodge on the first floor. We are right on Mirzapur Road, directly across from the R.C. High School. You can hear the school bells ringing throughout the day and the sound of children shouting during their break times. Gool Lodge is an old building, it has a lot of character but also some creaky floorboards and windows that don't always close perfectly. It feels like a part of the history of this road. The entrance is a bit tucked away, so you have to keep an eye out for the sign. Inside, we have high ceilings which keep things cool even when it gets really hot outside in the summer. We don't have air conditioning, just some big old fans that move the air around. There are stacks of books and papers everywhere because that’s just how we work. The school across the way is a good landmark for people trying to find us. Mirzapur Road is always moving, with bikes and buses going past at all hours. We usually have the windows open to catch the air, even if it brings in some of the noise. It’s a very grounded place to be. We drink a lot of tea and sit around the big central table to discuss what needs to be done. It’s not fancy, but it works for us. We are just a group of people doing our thing in an old house.
