AMRITA BRICKLIEN PRIVATE LIMITED

We are over in Purusottam Pur, which is a small area in Mirzapur. The business is called Amrita Bricklien and it has been around for a bit. Our address is linked to Hansa Singh’s place in Fattehpur. If you know the Mirzapur area, you know it can get really hot and the ground is quite hard. We work with the soil here to make our bricks. It's not a clean job. By the end of the day, everyone is covered in red dust. My brother and I handle most of the daily stuff. We don't have a big corporate setup. It is just a desk, some chairs, and a lot of open land where the bricks are laid out to bake in the sun. We get a lot of local people coming in from the nearby villages. They are usually building a small house or a wall and need a thousand bricks or so. We don't do much marketing because word of mouth is enough around here. People know where we are. We try to keep things simple and honest. If a batch isn't good, we tell people. There’s no point in lying about it. The rainy season is our quiet time because you can't really make bricks when the ground is a swamp. We just sit in the shed and wait for the sun to come back out so we can get back to work. It is a slow way of life but it works for us.
