Shiv Shkti Marbale

If you are driving along the Sangli Kolhapur Road, you will probably see our yard. We are located in Sangli, very close to the KMT bike showroom. Most people just call us Shiv Shkti Marbale. We have been here for a while, dealing with all kinds of marble slabs. It is not a very glamorous job. There is always a lot of dust in the air, especially when we are moving the stone around or if there is a lot of wind coming off the road. We don't have a big air-conditioned office to sit in. Instead, we spend most of our time outside or in the shed where the stone is kept. It gets quite hot in the summer, but that is just how it is. We have a few people who help with the heavy lifting because those marble pieces are much heavier than they look. We don't have any flashy signs or big advertisements. Most of our customers are locals from around Sangli who are building a house or fixing up a room. They come in, look at what we have in the stacks, and we talk about the different patterns. It is a very direct way of doing business. Sometimes a truck arrives with new stock and it takes us the whole day to get everything unloaded and organized. It is hard work and our backs usually ache by the evening, but it is what we do.
