Ideal Books

You can find Ideal Books on the second floor of Datta Krupa Apartment in Sangli. We are located near Deval Talkies in the Laxmi area. Being on the second floor means people have to walk up the stairs, but they don't seem to mind once they see all the books we have. It’s a bit of a climb, especially when we are carrying heavy boxes of new stock up there. The apartment building is older, but it has a good feel to it. We’ve set up the shop so there’s a little room to walk between the stacks, though it’s still tight. We handle a lot of educational books and some local literature. It's mostly just me and a helper running things day to day. We spend a lot of time dusting the shelves because the windows stay open for the breeze. Sangli is a nice place to work, and being near the talkies means there are always people around. We don't do much advertising; word of mouth seems to do the trick for us. People know if they need something specific, they can come up the stairs and ask. We try to be helpful without making a big fuss about it. Sometimes we run out of space and have to stack things on the floor, which makes it a bit of a maze. But we know where every book is.
