Khodiyar Sons

Khodiyar Sons is located at Gala No- 1 in the Shree Khodiyar Estate. We’re right near the Mira Road Railway Station, so it’s always busy with people coming and going. Being near the film studios means there’s often something interesting happening nearby, but inside our gala, it’s mostly just hard work. We deal with a lot of stock and the space can feel a bit cramped when a big delivery arrives. There is always dust from the road, no matter how much we sweep. It’s an industrial area, so it’s loud and there’s always the smell of grease or old metal around. We’ve been here for a long time. The railway tracks are so close you can hear the trains passing by all day long. We don’t have a fancy showroom. It’s just a practical space where we handle our business. Most of our day is spent checking lists and moving items around the floor. It gets hot in the afternoons, but we keep the fans going. It’s just a family-run kind of thing, really. We know the other shop owners in the estate and we all just look out for each other. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. We’re just regular people working in a busy corner of Mira Road. We try to keep things moving so we can get home at a decent time every evening.
